What should I expect in a Music Therapy session?
A music therapy session involves the use of musical instruments, percussion, voice, movement and interactive improvisation. Within a session clients will be involved in music making with their therapist. We work together to develop lifestyle skills and goals which may include enhancing social skills, speech and language, fine and gross motor skills, improving self-regulation and more. Please do not hesitate to ask the therapist about what is happening during the session, but we would appreciate it if this were done after the session ends rather than during the session.
