About Music Therapy
Music Therapy links the use of interactive musical play with non-musical related goals sessions support, building confidence, independence and self-expression, fine and gross motor function, enhancing social engagement, developing communication skills, improving emotional, cognitive and physical self-regulation. Weaving musical play with instruments such as drumming, percussion, bells, voice, wind instruments, guitar, ukulele, bass guitar and keyboard in fun and engaging activities allows an effortless flow towards enhancing relationships with self and others.
Music Therapy caters for any age and supports those with disabilities, those who need emotional and mental support, and those who need physical support.
A Registered Music Therapist (RMT) is acknowledged as an allied health professional and is a member of the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA™). The AMTA™ is a member organization of Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA).
Through research-based practice, RMTs use their professional musician skills to actively support people as they journey to improve and enhance their physical, spiritual, mental and emotional wellbeing.
